1. Optimism Soars among Small-Business Owners
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) reports its Small Business Optimism Index jumped 8.0 points to 101.7 in November, its highest level since June 2021. 2. Retailers Welcome a Boost in Holiday Spending
Holiday receipts will increase between 2.5 percent and 3.5 percent over last year's numbers, says the National Retail Federation. 3. Business Owners Cheer Corporate Transparency Act Suspension – Here's Why
A regulation instituted by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCen) has been struck down — at least temporarily — by a federal judge in Texas. 4. FTC Takes Aim at Unfair Distributor Pricing

5. Ransomware Attacks Hit Small Businesses Hard
Researchers claim that as many as eight out of ten ransomware attacks — in which a business's data is held hostage, pending a demanded amount of money — target small businesses.
